The
New Star of India (February,
1999)
by Tod Nguyen
The
Star of India serves buffet lunches where you can eat as much
as you can muster. They offer a rotating
menu of curry, vegetable side dishes, soups and other unique appetizers.
Curry is the main item available during the buffet. The curry
served at The Star of India comes in hot and mild dishes. Additional
hot and
mint chutney
sauces are available for those who like spicy meals. The people
you meet at this restaurant are friendly and hospitable. Overall
you will find this dining experience enjoyable if you don't over-stuff
yourself, which is not hard to do.
Tour
of the New Star of India.
You
know you are in an Indian restaurant the minute you walk in. The
entry way is decorated with Indian brasswares and lanterns.
You'll
be greeted by the host...who then shows you to your table.
You can't but help
notice and admire the artwork that surrounds the dining areas.
The art works are done by local Indian artists.
If you order the buffet,
then it's time to head towards the buffet bar where there's an
abundance of delights to choose from.
