China's
origin begins approximately in 3500 BC when the Longshan people
founded towns there. In c.2000 BC, they developed into a flourishing
civilization. Five hundred years later, the Shang dynasty would
begin what would be the first in a long line of dynasties that
would last for several centuries. China, though, was involved
in many difficult situations which included their being conquered
by Kublai Khan in AD 1238 and their many internal conflicts, one
of which brought forth the creation of an unbelievable manmade
object: the Great Wall of China. Today, China lives under a socialist
government and holds the distinct honor of being Earth's only
country to have over one billion citizens.
