dragonHistory of Dragon Dance
The Dragon Dance originates all the way back to the Sui and Tang Dynasties (581-906 AD) and since then, it has evolved from a ritual of religious worship to a public performance invoking generous spirits and good fortune for everyone. The dragon mask may be gold, green, multicolored, or fiery red. The dragon can be anywhere from 9 to 24 sections long. Each section measures 5 to 6½ feet long. This ritual can be performed during the day or night.
