The
Mayan Theatre will run Japanese
Anime movies at midnight on Fridays and
Saturdays in November. Follow the link to see what movie will
be showing. 
Director/Actor
Sydney Pollack (shown here with Ron Henderson of the Denver Film
Society) gave insights into the movie "Random Hearts", which he
directed, as the Denver Film Festival officially begins. The movie
premiered to cheering crowds at the Buell Theatre. This film festival
will run 7 days. There will be many international movies showing
at the Denver Film Festival. We've highlighted a number of Asian-related
movies for you.

Horticulture Professionals at Chinese Garden Slide Show
The
Denver Botanic Gardens will host a slide show on Thursday, October
14, 1999 to recap the highlights of an earlier spring trip to
China for the international Horticultural Expo in Kunming.

The weather folks had predicted
snow and rain on our makeup rain-dates, Saturday and Sunday Oct
2 & 3. For once we were glad the weather folks are consistently
wrong! Our weekend tennis warriors came back with great enthusiasm
as we concluded the tournament on Sunday.

Blossom Festival 1999
The
"Sakura Matsuri" is one of the oldest festival in the Denver Area
dating back to October of 1972. This year's event reacquainted
thousands of visitors to the Japanese Culture at the Buddhist
Temple and Sukura Square in Downtown Denver.

The Aurora Asian/Pacific Community Partnership
and the Denver Film Society in cooperation with the City of Aurora
present the second Aurora Asian Film Festival. Various "In-person"
appearances by Directors/ actors/ actresses will be made at the
Film Festival.
