By Trinh Nguyen
Jan 3, 1999
About
50 guests attended China USA, Ltd. Clothiers of Lakewood's Grand
Opening on D ecember
17th, 1999 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. China USA, Ltd. Clothiers is
the first store of its kind in Colorado to provide "The World's
Finest Custom Tailored Clothing - At An Affordable Cost."
Before
the event started, AsiaXpress.com had a chance to chat with Ted
W. Parker, owner of this unique store. Also present were representatives
from Philippine Asian/American Times, Denver Korean News, Vietnamese's
Y Dan Newspaper and Colorado Chinese News. Mr. Parker said that
he's done a bit of world traveling and it was no surprise to him
that everyone has the ability to choose wearing apparel that they
themselves designed. China
USA, Ltd. gives the customer this ability with literally hundreds
of basic styles from all over the world, rather than having to
wear what someone else designed and thousands of others were wearing.
Tailor made shirts, in the design and material of the customer's
choice starting at $55.00. The world's finest suits start at $300.00
- for any Paris, Italy, England, Spain or Orient original. China
USA, Ltd. also have "traveling tailors" to come to office
or business for the fitting. Normal store hours are from 10:00
am to 7:00 pm, Monday thru Saturday.
Steve
Burkholder, Mayor of Lakewood, was present for the ribbon cutting
at 4:30 PM. Two dragons from the Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation
- Nhu Lai Temple danced in front of the store to formally start
the grand opening. The ribbon cutting ceremony followed after
the dragon dance by owner Ted Parker and the Mayor in presence
of many guests of different ethnicity.
 The
entertainment included Miss Jocelyn Chao's colorful Spring Dance
followed by Miss Christina T. Stone performance of the Flower
Drum Dance. Miss Chao then returned with another dance called
Fan Dance with two beautiful peacock feather fans. The grand opening
concluded with a joyful Mongolian's Chopstick Dance by miss Stone.
