About 50 guests attended China USA, Ltd. Clothiers of Lakewood's Grand Opening on Dinterviewingecember 17th, 1999 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. China USA, Ltd. Clothiers is the first store of its kind in Colorado to provide "The World's Finest Custom Tailored Clothing - At An Affordable Cost."

Ted ParkerBefore the event started, AsiaXpress.com had a chance to chat with Ted W. Parker, owner of this unique store. Also present were representatives from Philippine Asian/American Times, Denver Korean News, Vietnamese's Y Dan Newspaper and Colorado Chinese News. Mr. Parker said that he's done a bit of world traveling and it was no surprise to him that everyone has the ability to choose wearing apparel that they themselves designed. dragon danceChina USA, Ltd. gives the customer this ability with literally hundreds of basic styles from all over the world, rather than having to wear what someone else designed and thousands of others were wearing. Tailor made shirts, in the design and material of the customer's choice starting at $55.00. The world's finest suits start at $300.00 - for any Paris, Italy, England, Spain or Orient original. China USA, Ltd. also have "traveling tailors" to come to office or business for the fitting. Normal store hours are from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday thru Saturday.

ribbon cuttingSteve Burkholder, Mayor of Lakewood, was present for the ribbon cutting at 4:30 PM. Two dragons from the Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation - Nhu Lai Temple danced in front of the store to formally start the grand opening. The ribbon cutting ceremony followed after the dragon dance by owner Ted Parker and the Mayor in presence of many guests of different ethnicity.

Miss Christina StoneMiss Jocelyn ChaoThe entertainment included Miss Jocelyn Chao's colorful Spring Dance followed by Miss Christina T. Stone performance of the Flower Drum Dance. Miss Chao then returned with another dance called Fan Dance with two beautiful peacock feather fans. The grand opening concluded with a joyful Mongolian's Chopstick Dance by miss Stone.

His tailor-made apparel is fabricated from hundreds of Paris, Rome, London or New York City fashion styles. Should a customer bring in a photograph or a picture of a clothing article, Gene's fine Asian tailors can even duplicate it, from their hundreds of fine imported fabric materials. The fine finished apparel can be picked up or is mailed to the customer, usually within ten (10) days from the fitting date, as all fitting orders are immediately sent to Gene's tailors in Beijing, Shanghai, Kowloon, or Nepal, India depending upon the articles(s) desired.
