  2nd Annual Hmong Education Conference
Chou Chang, Assistant Principal from Harding High School, St. Paul Public Schools, MN.

    This year's theme was "Getting Ready For The Next Millennium".

The conference was to help parents and students understand and improve their roles in today's society and to better themselves for the future.

Nha Bee Moua, Conference Chair of the Hmong American Association of Colorado.

Featured speakers came as far as Washington D.C. and Minnesota to converge toward this common cause.    

Julie Lor Xiong, President of the Hmong Women Educational Association of Colorado.

Parents and students there were inform of such topics as "School, students, and parents' roles to success in education", "Education among Hmong youth", "Intergeneration conflict and parenting skills", "Youth crime intervention", "Social culture and tradition: Hmong traditional weddings", and "HND

Fong Jonathan Her, a representative of the Hmong National Development, Inc. from Washington DC

updates on national issues relating to Hmong".

The conference was conducted mostly in Hmong as to help the older generation understand the topics discussed.
