World Famous Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats

The world famous Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats are coming to the Pikes Peak Center stage for a one-time-only performance of breathtaking skills and spellbinding beauty on Saturday, September 13, 2003, at 7:30 PM. For more than twenty-seven centuries, Chinese acrobats have been thrilling audiences, making it the "longest running" folk art form in history. In China, acrobats are revered in much the same way prima
ballerinas and opera singers are in the West. The Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of this honored tradition, mixing award winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes and ancient and contemporary theatrical techniques. The performers have rigorously trained since early youth and their love of their art, their expertise and life-long discipline combine to create a fabulous performance.
Acrobats will perform their specialty acts such as the tower of chairs, men on a bicycle, and twirling plates. This performance of spellbinding acrobatics and dance is highlighted by artists who are not only
acrobats, but also actors, athletes, artists and dancers. Their feats of physical daring and grace are enhanced by elaborate traditional costumes in brilliant colors.

These remarkable performers, under the direction of world-renowned impresario Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang, have nurtured their ancient skills and have become the world's leading Chinese acrobatic troupe, performing more than any other company around the world. The Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats have performed in over 65 countries on five continents, including performances at such prestigious venues as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D. C., Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City, the Seattle Children's Festival and Sea World in Florida.
