who dominated post-war Japanese cinema. Director Adam Low tries to get

A dramatic story of Vietnamese-born "Heidi," formerly Hiep,
adopted by a single woman in conservative Tennessee, who, later in life,

collaboration with world-renowned conductor Zubin Mehta and award-winning
Chinese film director Zhang Yimou (Raise the Red Lantern), who joined
forces to produce Puccini's opera Turandot. The staging of Turandot in
the Forbidden City of Beijing reveals the back-stage drama and passionate

Siddhartha (USA/India, re-release of the 1972 English-language classic)

Based on the best-selling novel by the Nobel prize winner Herman Hesse,
Siddhartha is a story of a young Brahmin and his search for a meaningful
way of life. The secret is found through inner experience. Filmed entirely
on location in Northern India, the film is a ravishing visual experience

prints from the restored negative.

from the mountains of Laos to Appleton, Wisconsin, revealing the untold

A fun, frolicking romantic comedy, directed by Hsiao Ya-chuan, signals

life of a young man whose lifeline on his left hand was scratched off.
