Day Three
After a two week break, players returned to Utah Park in Aurora, Colorado for the AsiaXpress Tennis Tournament doubles weekend. After a gorgeous weekend for singles competition, the first day of doubles play was marred by rain which easily delayed the games by a good two hours. This marks the fourth time in six years that rain has fallen during the tournament.

Much like in the singles' division, Loan Cao has been dominant in the doubles winning the past three consecutive years, two of which with her with current partner Christina Tran. However, the streak would end this year as the two lost to Huong Nguyen and newcomer Chelsea Holman in the first round.

After not being able to break the curse in singles, AsiaXpress entered doubles with four teams in the four divisions. At the end of the day, three of the teams were still alive, with only Joe and the "Great" John Doan being eliminated in B competition.

The new mixed doubles division was introduced this year and twenty-three competed to claim the trophy. Teams of all skill levels were pit against one another. Despite the fact that some matches proved that one team was way out of their opponents' league, it was still fun for all who played.
