Drunken Master II After returning home with his father (Lung Ti), Wong Fei-hung (Jackie Chan) gets entangled in between those trying to export ancient Chinese artifacts and those who are trying to stop it. Jackie Chan reprises his role of Wong Fei-hung sixteen years after the original "Drunken Master" came out. At first glance, it appears that there are several things that don’t make any sense. In this movie, he’s plays a character that’s nearly half his age. Lung Ti, who plays his father, is only eight years older than him in real life. His step-mother, played by the late Anita Mui, was actually younger than him by seven years. Who cares?
It’s a Jackie Chan movie. You come for the action and the comedy, if you get a good plot, more the better. The action sequences in this movie are among my favorite. The scene in the restaurant is probably the best 2 on 100-plus fight scene that you have ever seen. I ended up with a grin on my face during every single fight in the movie. The twenty minute final scene where Fei-hung fights his way through the mill was really good. I still enjoyed the final fight in "Young Master" a bit more. Anita Mui was absolutely uproarious in her role as Fei-hung’s stepmother. Her natural charisma just flows into every scene that she’s in. As for Jackie, this is him at his best. Without a doubt, of all the Jackie Chan movies I’ve seen, this is my favorite. A must have for your personal collection. Joe
