OMNI Research and Training, Inc. Mr. James Adams-Berger (President), Ms. Suzanne Kennedy-Leahy, Mr. Mario Rivera, Mr. Carsten Bauman (presentation made by Ms. Ivy Hontz, Director of Programs) OMNI Research and Training, Inc. is an applied social research company that has been providing high quality, client-centered research and evaluation services since 1976. In 1995, the OMNI Institute (OMNI) was formed as a 501(c) (3) to be a partner to OMNI Research and Training, Inc. Over the years, the companies have worked with a variety of governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and private foundations to develop and implement evaluation strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each project. OMNI’s work with the Asian Pacific Development Center includes: Tobacco needs assessment, funded by the State Tobacco Education Prevention Program (STEPP) Youth tobacco prevention program, funded by STEPP Assessment of the APDC Interpreters’ Bank Asian Youth Mentorship Project, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Strengthening Asian Families evaluation, funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention OMNI Research and Training was selected as the agency that exemplifies best practices in working with and supporting our non-profit organization. Their work with our organization has been exceptional, both in terms of quality of product, and interpersonal relationships. It has been a valuable asset having their organization as a resource in our efforts to develop programs and services to the Asian American/Pacific Islander community here in Colorado. OMNI’s generous donation of resources to APDC, above and beyond that which was called for in our contractual agreements, has been a wonderful and much appreciated gift. These donated resources have greatly improved our ability to serve the Asian American/Pacific Islander community.
Mr. Shigeo Kimura and Yumino (wife) Owners, Japanese Janitorial Service (presentation made by Ms. Carey Ann Tanaka, Clinical Director) Japanese Janitorial Service has been selected for the Community Business award at our annual Asian Pacific Development Center (APDC) Asian New Year Banquet, held February 23, 2002. Mr. Shigeo Kimura came to the States in 1968 as a salesman working for a Japanese trading company based in Tokyo. He was stationed in Chicago and had to traveled all over the United States. After a few years working in Chicago, his company went bankrupt and he lost his job. His friends who lived in Denver invited him to Denver. He moved to Denver in 1970 and started his own janitorial business. Two years after he came to Denver, he married to Yumino. Ever since then Shigeo and Yumino have been happily married with one son, Mamoru. Shigeo started working for APDC on May of 1984. Mr. and Mrs. Kimura have been a great supporters and friends to APDC. Dr. Franklin P. Kim , APDC CEO and Joyce Kim together with Dr. Leonard Tamura, APDC Board Chair and Mrs, Tamura were important organizers of the event. . |
