While guests enjoyed the fabulous dinner served by Palace Chinese Restaurant entertainment was provided by Chinese dancers and Korean and Hmong performers. Serena Ung of Fox31 was the gracious emcee of the evening.
Mr. Paul Maynell, Account Manager for RSM McGladrey (presentation made by Dr. Frank Kim) Paul has been involved in the computer industry for more than thirty years. Beginning in 1971 he was one of the owners of a Computer Service Bureau that provided write-up and on-line accounting services to a broad range of clients. Then in 1980, Paul entered the Personal Computer arena as one of the owners of a firm that provided PC hardware and software sales, networking, programming, and consulting services for a wide variety of businesses. In 1990 he formed Advanced Business Computer Systems with two associates to sell and support Great Plains and CYMA accounting software. During these last three decades Paul has advised, setup, customized and configured computerized accounting systems for more than a thousand companies. He specialized in linking a variety of vertical software packages to the back office accounting system. Where necessary, Paul designed and created these electronic links to the accounting system. Mr. Maynell’s association with APDC began in 1985. At that time, APDC needed to set up its first computer. Paul volunteered his time to take on this task. It required working with, and upgrading an old IBM PC (8086). I’ve been told that this computer did not have a hard drive, but only 2 floppy drives. After upgrading to a 10 meg hard drive, we discovered that we needed to change our power supply. After hours of dedicated work, APDC finally entered the computer age. To his credit and our benefit Paul continued to work with APDC, virtually every year since. In our mental health clinic, and due to the requirements of the State Mental Health Services, we have had to reprogram a number of times. Without his assistance, we never would have been able to make those adjustments over the years. |
